We are delighted to be in partnership with Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice and to be funding their sibling support programme-Synergy.
They have sent us these lovely words so we can share them with you all. You can really see the difference that your support makes.
The Synergy group, generously funded by Max's Foundation, is aimed at 14-18 year olds with siblings who have life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and for those who have lost a sibling.
The group allows them the opportunity to meet others who are in the similar position to themselves and gives them a place to gain support, advice, friendship and a place to just be themselves.
The project is vital for this age group - they can have many things going on at once and may sometimes feel quite lost. Synergy provides a place to have fun, the opportunity to meet like-minded people, and access to much-needed support.
At a recent siblings event, one of the young people who attended told the team that the event made her ‘feel like a kid again’. Many of the siblings we support really have very different childhoods to most of their peers.
To provide opportunities for them to let go, relax, have fun and just ‘be a kid again’ is so important and Max's Foundation helps to make this possible.
Synergy Youth Group has attended Milly Days, a retreat to a lovely riverside property on the banks of the Thames in Buckinghamshire. The siblings spent the day swimming, driving a speedboat and having plenty of space to stretch out and have fun!
Our most popular outing to date has been the Synergy Group’s trip to Thorpe Park which took place in August, one of the siblings described it as “THE BEST DAY EVER!” The next event will be Go-Karting which was voted as a firm favourite among the group, I think they’re all especially excited about this one!
