Dave, Molly and I, along with our other Trustees, wanted to reach out to you, our wonderful friends and supporters, to let you know we are thinking of you all at this time and to update you on our work at Max's Foundation.
In these unprecedented times, and with so many different aspects of all our lives affected by the COVID-19 outbreak, we wanted assure you that we are regular discussions with our partners to ensure our ground-breaking research projects and wellbeing support services can continue.
I'm pleased to report that our projects with GOSH remain unaffected for the moment and we would like to wish the staff both at GOSH and across the NHS all the best wishes and thanks we can – they are all absolute heroes.
Equally, our partnership with Cardiomyopathy UK remains unchanged. If you have any questions about cardiomyopathies and COVID-19, then please do have a look at their website at https://www.cardiomyopathy.org.
Only our project with Noah's Ark Children's Hospice has had to be reassessed. Understandably, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice has, for the foreseeable future, cancelled all Synergy Group events for siblings of seriously ill children.
Our trustees have agreed that funds from Max’s Foundation's grant can be re-directed to Noah’s Ark’s Paediatric Palliative Care Nursing & Specialist Care Team, which is working with NHS England in its response to the crisis.
Indeed, the Ark’s In-Patient Unit is preparing to be used as an overflow unit meaning seriously unwell babies, children and young people can continue to receive the specialist care they require while freeing up hospital beds and staff resource in other London hospitals for COVID-19 patients.
Funding for all our projects is secure until the end of the year and we remain committed to ensuring they continue into 2021 and beyond. We'd like to thank all those who are still planning to compete in a challenge event or host their own fundraiser on our behalf.
Our annual golf day is currently set for mid June, our quiz night (postponed due to a power cut earlier this year) is moving to September and our annual dinner has been booked for 14 November. We will of course be reviewing all dates in line with government guidelines.
For the most up to date information on all our fundraising events and activities please go to our website.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us. We hope to see you all very soon. Until that time, stay safe and well.
All our best wishes,
Shira and all at Max’s Foundation ♥️
